Spinning experimental 80’s infused lo-fi pop punk, PART TIME, is headed up by San Franciscan David Speck, and is reminiscent of Bryan Ferry, strumming up nostalgic ideas of Roxy Music.

If you’re a fan of Ariel Pink, John Maus, Mac Demarco or Connan Mockasin, or just want to time travel to that murky, dreamy dimension of the 80’s, then this could be the band for you.

Releasing six albums so far, their second album was probably my favourite, entitled ‘What Would You Say’, it arrived from label Mexican Summer in 2011, and is easy to fall in love with.

The LP effortlessly rolls through each breezy pop gem – from lead single, What Would You Say, to stealthier tracks like, In This Filthy City.

The infectious WWYS album was created with Casio’s, warped guitars, and glossy percussion. The follow up to this was third album PDA released in 2013, featuring stand out track All My Love & All Your Love (Together We Are Fine) the perfect soundtrack for some unmade 80’s film.

PART TIME’s latest release was Virgo’s Maze last year in 2015, featuring sleazy 80’s nightclub ballads and standout track, Ganz Wien.

For captivating bedroom pop, head to their official Bandcamp to buy your very own EP!

Part Time are currently only touring the US, but watch this space for European dates.
